“Going into the [program], I dealt with really high anxiety levels and very inconsistent cravings or body issues. I would eat really healthy and visibly gain weight, and my period would come either twice in one month or disappear for 3 months at a time. I struggled a lot with hormonal acne (which I never had growing up [and] was a huge hit to my confidence) and despite staying active, I felt super heavy and bloated all of the time. I avoided hanging out with my friends or dressing up, resulting in a never ending, very depressing loop.
Through your program, I learnt how to understand what my body is going through, especially considering the different weeks within our menstrual cycle. I learnt better tools to regulate my nervous system, and value a good quality of sleep over an extra hour of work.
I also learnt to love the food that I was eating and started experimenting a lot more in the kitchen to make meals that I knew would make me feel better afterwards as well, not just while I would be consuming them…Even the act of taking digestive bitters before eating lowered my bloating and mood swings by a ton and further allowed me to enjoy the portions I require to fuel myself.
I also loved the community you created, where everyone brought their own matters to a space that they knew they were valued.
I think my mom and I cried together when we realized that it’s been a year of 12 period cycles for me — something I had never experienced before. I am actually able to move around and not be bed-ridden for week!
I have also been able to lose quite a bit of weight, to a healthy extent, that I feel strong enough to take on sports and have enough energy afterwards, as well.
